Does YOUR organisation have to report under the new National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) legislation?

The National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Act requires larger energy users and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emitters to quantitatively report greenhouse gas emissions, energy production and consumption to the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency from July 1st 2008. For larger entities with complex industrial processes on multiple sites, reporting activities under the act is not a simple task.

The second round of NGER submission will require you to register by 31st August 2010 (if not already done so) and submission of data by 31st of October 2010. The thresholds for reporting reduce each year, so over time more and more companies will be required to register and report the GHG emissions and energy data.
