Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency The Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency(DCCEE) provides a range of information relating to the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Act. National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting(NGER) Act (2007) The Act provides a national system for reporting and dissemination of information for reporting greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption and energy production by corporations, as required from 1 July 2008. NGER Regulations 2008 NGER Guidelines The Reporting Guidelines provide assistance in interpreting the reporting requirements under the Act and National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Regulations. NGER (Measurement) Determination for 2008-09 and 2009-10 The Determination provides the methods and associated criteria for their use in calculating greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption/production in compliance with the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act. NGER (Measurement) Technical Guidelines for 2008-09 and 2009-10 The NGER Technical Guidelines provide assistance to organisations in understanding and applying the Determination. NGER Audit Framework The Greenhouse and Energy Audit Framework outlines the audit framework and tools available under the NGER Act that can be used by the Greenhouse and Energy Data Officer (GEDO) to monitor compliance with NGER. NGER Published Data The GEDO must publish the GHG and energy data that have been reported by each registered corporation whose group had scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions in excess of the previous year’s publishing threshold, or who holds a reporting transfer certificate. NGER Fact Sheets The NGER Fact sheets provide helpful information on a range of issues about NGER, including operational control, GreenPower, Reporting Transfer Certificate and more. OSCAR (Online System for Comprehensive Activity Reporting) Online Training OSCAR is an online tool designed for reporting activity and emissions data under NGER. The automated features in OSCAR will calculate the greenhouse emissions based on the energy consumption figures entered. To gain access to OSCAR, you will need to register to report under NGER. The National Greenhouse Accounts (NGA) Factors The NGA Factors have been prepared by the Department of Climate Change (DCC) and replace the AGO Factors and Methods Workbook. The NGA Factors document contains information and emission factors which can be used by companies or individuals in estimating greenhouse gas emissions from certain activities. The NGA Factors do not apply to the NGER Legislation, and the published GHG and energy emission factors for NGER must be used. | |||||||
